Article number: 70810002Description
Keyence FD-Q50C Precise clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement (max. 500l/min),
pipe Ø 44-64mm, free surface pipe from 50% filling level
The FD-Q measures the time it takes for an ultrasonic signal to travel from point A on the sensor to point B (t1). As the flow rate increases, the signal is accelerated so that less time is needed for the signal to travel from A to B (t2). The FD-Q calculates the current flow rate based on the relationship between the time duration and the flow rate.
dTOF-Technology
Conventional ultrasonic flow sensors are known for their unstable measurement results. This is because the speed of the ultrasonic signal is affected not only by the flow of the liquid, but also by external factors such as blockages or temperature changes. Instead of simply measuring the duration of a single pulse, the FD-Q sends and receives two separate sets of ultrasonic pulses. One travels from A to B, the other from B to A. This allows the FD-Q to measure the flow more stably by simply comparing the two signals. This method minimizes the effects of external factors.
DSS-Function
A stable transmission of the ultrasonic signal is essential for consistent measurements. Dirt accumulation or rust on the inside of the pipe can become a problem for conventional flow sensors over time. Thanks to the DSS function, the FD-Q automatically adjusts its performance to compensate for such bottlenecks in the pipe, thus ensuring stable measurements in the long term.
