VISADES FlexFlowIQ Control Unit
What's behind it?
Until now, small UV systems have almost always been operated with a fixed minimum UV irradiance for maximum flow.
However, this results in a disadvantage. Especially in small water supply systems, the influence of heavy rainfall events with input of surface water into the spring catchment is often high. In karst areas, even more so.
If the fixed minimum UV irradiance is not reached, the water supply must be interrupted due to insufficient disinfection.
FlexFlowIQ control allows the use of the entire certified range, from very clear, high-flow water to more cloudy, low-flow water. This allows us to maintain the operation of the UV disinfection system and thus the drinking water supply over a very wide range – less is pumped with turbid raw water, more with clear water.
Advantages of the FlexFlow IQ:
- Maximum operational reliability of the UV disinfection system by adapting the flow rate to the raw water – properties
- 100%: Use of the full treatment capacity of the UV system at all times
- Minimum and maximum flow limits adjustable
- Minimum and maximum pressure limits can be set as an option.
- Compactly designed and ready-to-install pipe component made of stainless steel (V4a) with all installations required for the operation of the UV system.
- Simple and fast in-line installation (inlet and outlet in one line)
- Plug-in. All electrical wiring equipped with plug connections

A clarification for our own benefit:
We regulate the flow in FlexFlow operating mode based on the measured UV irradiance levels in the UV system.
Any online turbidity measurement that may be present has no influence on the FlexFlow flow control behavior.
The turbidity measurement only ensures the general operation of the UV system within the permitted turbidity limits.
